4.3 Create bitmaps

As shown in the Quickstart section, it is possible to select a *.bdf file which contains the corresponding field values. The incident field and scattered field files can be selected seperately. One or both can be disabled. If both are disabled, only the geometry is drawn.

The field component that is to be drawn can be selected: in a TM simulation, only the Ez, Hx and Hy components will be non-zero. Conversely, in a TE simulation, the Hz, Ex and Ey components are non-zero.

The `Black' field corresponds with the field strength below which the field is represented by a black pixel. The `Red' field corresponds with the field strength above which the field is represented by a red pixel. The field intensities that are comprised between black and red are linearly represented by a colormap black-blue-green-red. Note that the magnetic field values are typically a factor Z (approx. 370 Ohm) smaller than the corresponding electrical field values.
